Introduction

I am Mukesh Yogendra Singh, born and brought up in Bihar. My education was up to the 12th standard. I am the founder of MK Electricals, a business that has grown over 25 years of hard work, dedication, and resilience. Here is my story.

Early Life and Beginnings

After spending my childhood in Bihar, I moved to Mumbai to pursue better opportunities. Initially, I stayed with friends and worked under contractors for one to two years. Later, in the year 2000, I moved to Pune, where I met Tayyab Sheikh, who played a pivotal role in guiding me. With his encouragement, I ventured into the electrical business.

Before establishing my business, I started small, doing minor tasks like fitting lights in rooms. Over time, a strong desire grew within me to create something of my own. Coming from a middle-class family, my father also supported me in this journey. In 1998, I got married, and my wife has been a pillar of support throughout.

Building the Business

With a modest investment of ₹10 lakhs, I started MK Electricals. Initially, I faced several challenges. For instance, our shop was in an interior area, so customers hesitated to visit. Moreover, there were instances where clients did not pay for completed work, leading to financial difficulties. Despite these setbacks, I made personal improvements, learned to set boundaries, and adapted to the circumstances.

I was fortunate to meet remarkable people who helped shape my journey. Architects like Nishant Mehta, Satyajit Bhosle, and Prakash Chandak supported me during the initial phase. Their belief in the quality of my work allowed me to establish a reputation. For the past 20 years, they have continued to work with me, which I consider a significant achievement.

Overcoming Challenges

In my journey, I encountered different kinds of people—40% were supportive and kind, 20% were neutral, and 40% were discouraging, including some from my own hometown who wished for my failure. However, God always supports those with good intentions. With perseverance and the guidance of mentors like Prakash Chandak Sir, I overcame these hurdles.

Achievements and Growth

Today, MK Electricals has completed over 1,000 projects, ranging from industrial to commercial and residential spaces. We employ over thirty skilled individuals and have grown into a trusted name in the industry. Starting from scratch, our business now proudly stands as a testament to hard work and determination.

Vision for the Future

I am satisfied with what we have achieved so far, but I dream of MK Electricals becoming a family-driven business that continues to thrive in the future. With my family's unwavering support, I believe this legacy will grow stronger, providing opportunities for future generations.
